About Bluffcooking

Bluffcooking didn't start as a website. It started at a table full of students with too little budget and the firm belief that a dish should look expensive — even when it wasn't.

How it started

Back in university, we cooked for large groups all the time — student-association dinners, the works. A few friends worked in hospitality and loved eating out, and after every meal out came the same conversation: 'I could do that too.' Not run a restaurant — that's a brutal business, all due respect. But think like one: a smear of balsamic reduction, a couple of edible flowers, a clean swipe of sauce with the back of a spoon. We did it ourselves, half as a joke, and it worked every single time. At some point it clicked: if a student budget could pull this off, anyone can.

What Bluffcooking is

What started as a recipe notebook for myself grew into this site. No ads, no pop-ups, no 'jump to recipe' after three screens of life story. Just dishes that take little effort and make a big impression — on a date, at your parents', or just because it looks good on your story.

Where the recipes come from

I still doomscroll Instagram sometimes — exhausting when you're in it, but the algorithm knows exactly which dish will stop my thumb by now. When something jaw-dropping shows up, I test it until it works, fit it to the Bluffcooking style, and give it an honest Wow score. That's how the list keeps growing.
